What is electronics sourcing from China?
Electronics sourcing from China means working with verified manufacturers to produce consumer electronics — from smart devices and audio equipment to wearables and tech accessories — under your brand. China's Guangdong Province provides access to the world's most complete electronics manufacturing ecosystem, covering every component, PCB, and assembly need.
Electronics is the most compliance-intensive import category for UK businesses. As the UK importer, you are the Responsible Person — legally accountable for product safety even if you didn't manufacture it.
UKCA Marking
Required for most regulated electronics in Great Britain from 1 January 2024. Replaces CE marking. You must hold a Technical File and issue a UK Declaration of Conformity.
UK RoHS
Restricts hazardous substances including lead, mercury, and cadmium in all electrical and electronic equipment placed on the UK market.
UK WEEE
Producers of electrical equipment must register with an approved WEEE Producer Compliance Scheme and meet UK recycling obligations.
Battery Regulations
Lithium battery products must be tested to IEC 62133. UK-type G (3-pin) plugs required. Battery take-back scheme registration mandatory.

Do electronics from China need UKCA marking?
Most regulated electrical and electronic products require UKCA marking for Great Britain from 1 January 2024. CE marking is no longer accepted. As UK importer you are the Responsible Person and must hold a Technical File and issue a UK Declaration of Conformity. Check your specific product category as not every electronic product falls under UKCA scope.
What is the difference between CE and UKCA marking?
